Scope of Work: 3,000 SF new construction of single-family home.

Project Narrative: The design for this contemporary home was inspired by the client’s lifestyle and interest in architectural and fashion design.

The home features a series of masses that are methodically arranged in order to maximize the site’s private courtyard and its passive solar orientation. The southern-facing architectural openings and concrete floor allow the home to collect, store and radiate heat in the evenings. The pool is also heated using a solar photovoltaic array located on the roof.

The volumetric masses of the 3-bedroom home are complemented by a thinly connected accessory dwelling unit/garage, which serves as a studio, guest space and bedroom.
